Prof. Parlar’s interest areas include clinical and experimental studies in the field of Regenerative periodontics, Mucogingival surgery, Guided tissue regeneration, Esthetic dentistry, Perio-prosthetic relations, Implant dentistry and Guided bone regeneration. 

He has published over 70 experimental and clinical papers in national and international journals.

Prof. Parlar has extensively lectured in congresses all over the world and he presented more than 150 lectures, conferences and free papers as well as master class courses and seminars.

He has received 7 research awards and grants and is the founder of the ITI Turkish Section.

He was the first chairman of ITI Turkish section, he has also served as Education Delegate. 

Prof. Parlar has established a continuing education and training institute for implantology and periodontology IDEA®™ (Interdisciplinary Dental Education Academy) and is delivering masters courses as ImplantMasters®™, PerioMasters®™.

He is also practicing dentistry in his clinic: PrimaDent®™.
